Catford Community Choir

Catford Community Choir is an inclusive group where local people of all ages and walks of life can make real life connections, have fun and boost their mental health at the same time. A relaxed, feel-good hour of singing that will stimulate your mind, move your body and lift your soul. We're also baby-friendly.EVERYONE is welcome no matter what your age or experience. All you need is an open mind, a love of music and most of all – a sense of humour.

Pop music, world music, traditional songs and new songs.

Don’t worry if you think you can’t sing or you’ve never sung in a choir before. Or if you’re joining part way through the term. Mind-blowing magic happens and Nathan gets everyone sounding beautiful together in just a few minutes!

Who is this for?

Anyone who would like to join. Feel free to bring babies and toddlers along.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself! We have mats and toys for babies but you might want to bring your own toys too.

Who leads it?

This session is led by Nathan Devonte. Nathan was born in Lewisham and is passionate about music’s ability to make a positive impact on everyone regardless of identity, age, class or ability. He has a holistic approach to choral voice work and plans to make rehearsal sessions both fun and informative, with a focus on physical health, mental stimulation, emotional engagement and an in-depth look into the messages of song.

Nathan’s vocal performance credits include: working with Shingai Shoniwa (Noisettes), Omar Lye-Fook, Anthony David, supporting as an opening act for Anthony Hamilton, Keith Sweat, backing vocalist for Ed Sheeran and touring with Lemar. Most recently, on the Magic of Motown UK tour and performing internationally with groups The Flyrights and Soulwaves on luxury cruises.
